Abstract

Video game development is a multidisciplinary process that requires both technical and artistic knowledge. Even though there are tools to ease the creation of video games, they are still complex applications that require technical knowledge. This research proposes resources that make the creation of video games easier by reducing advanced programming requirements through three contributions. First, with the design and development of a video game engine based on a simplified game specification that reduces the complexity of the engine architecture. Next, with its formalization using the multi-agent systems methodology and defining the game logic with predicate semantics. And finally, the development of two virtual reality and augmented reality applications as serious games from the proposed model and with the study of their game experience.
