The medieval Kabalah, and other trends of Jewish mysticism, have given birth to a school of thinking, rhetoric and some metaphors reinterpreted in the XX century by five Spanish and Latin-American poets: Jorge Luis Borges, Juan Eduardo Cirlot, Juan Gelman, Clarisse Nicoïdski and José Ángel Valente. These authors look at the Kabalah as a source of inspiration and reflection about poetry. This thesis raises such an influence through the analysis of Jewish mysticism reminiscences in their works, and, at the same time, tries to go into the confluences between Kabalistic thinking and a theory of poetic language in depth. The final aim is rescuing the legacy of Hispanic Judaism and proving the validity of its imaginary, as a paradigm of interpretation for artistic experience.
