El desarrollo informático en los últimos años ha posibilitado la utilización de computadoras para simular el comportamiento de los componentes de una red eléctrica, a través de la utilización de modelos matemáticos. Los interruptores de potencia, como parte de cualquier red eléctrica, están representados por modelos que deben garantizar una correcta representación del arco eléctrico que se forma durante la operación de cierre o apertura del interruptor.<br/>Actualmente, existen en funcionamiento distintos tipos de interruptores operando a distintos niveles de tensión. Este trabajo consiste en el desarrollo de una metodología capaz de ser utilizada a cualquier nivel de tensión y en los tipos más habituales de interruptores de potencia, a partir de los datos obtenidos en ensayos de cortocircuito.<br/>Se presentan los modelos matemáticos más usuales, junto con una nueva forma de tratar el comportamiento de los parámetros involucrados a través de su implementación en un programa de simulación. La realización de ensayos en laboratorio ha permitido extrapolar la metodología hacia otros niveles de tensión, corriente y tipo de interruptor; los cuales demostraron una total aplicabilidad tanto de los programas de cálculo, que han sido especialmente confeccionados, como de los modelos matemáticos empleados en las simulaciones respectivas.<br/>Más allá de la teoría desarrollada, la utilidad práctica de esta trabajo radica en brindar una nueva herramienta para el análisis del comportamiento de los interruptores de forma metódica, que permita su utilización en otros ámbitos de investigación, desmitificando la concepción del arco eléctrico.
The computer development in the last years has made possible the computers utilization to simulate the behaviour of the components of an electrical network, through the mathematical models utilization. The power switches, as part of any electrical network, are represented by models that they should guarantee a correct representation of the electrical arc that is formed during the close or opening operation of the circuit<br/>breaker.<br/>Currently, they exist in different operation types of switches operating at different tension levels. This work consists of the development of a capable methodology to be used at any tension level and in the most common types of power switches, as of the data obtained in short circuit tests. They are presented the more usual mathematical models, together with a new form to test the behaviour of the parameters involved through its implementation in a simulation program.<br/>The tests accomplishment in laboratory has permitted to extrapolate the methodology toward other tension and current levels, and type of switch; those which demonstrated a total applicability so much of the calculation programs, that they have been especially made, as of the particular mathematical model in the respective simulations. <br/>Beyond the developed theory, the practical usefulness of this work bases in offering a new tool for the behavioural analysis of the switches in a methodical way, that permit its utilization in other investigation areas, demystifying the conception of the electrical arc.
