Los ligandos pirazol-tioéter presentan propiedades hemilábiles frente Pd(II) y Rh(I).
The chemistry of hemilabile ligands has been widely studied in recent years. The term "hemilabile ligand" refers to polydentate chelates containing at least two types of bonding groups displaying different properties in substitution reactions (one labile and one inert). Thus, one group bonds strongly to a metal centre and the other group is weakly bonded and easily displaced by coordinating ligands.
In this work we describe the synthesis and characterization of some pyrazole-derived ligands, which are N1-substituted with alkyl groups which contain thioether, thiol or thioether-alcohol groups.
Nine ligands are used in this work (6 pyrazole-thioether ligands, 2 pyrazole-thioether-alcohol ligands and 1 pyrazole-thiol ligand) and four of them have been synthesized for the first time.
The coordination chemistry of these ligands has been studied towards Pd(II), Pt(II), Rh(I) and Ni(II).
The complexes that have been obtained, were characterized by spectroscopic and analytical methods.
This characterization allowed us to improve the knowledge about the coordinative properties of these ligands towards the metallic centres that have been used.
Moreover, the 1H-NMR technique at variable temperature allowed us to study the hemilabile properties of these ligands.
To sum up, the hemilabile properties found are:
- The pyrazole-thioether ligands show hemilabile properties towards Pd(II) and Rh(I). In these cases, the pyrazolyl group acts as the inert group and the thioether as the labile one.
- The pyrazole-thioether-alcohol ligands show hemilabile properties towards Pd(II) and Pt(II), and, similarly to what was found for the pyrazole-thioether ligands, the pyrazolyl moiety acts as the inert group and the thioether as the labile one.
- The pyrazole-thiol ligand, which acts as a thiolate when coordinated to the metallic centre, acts as an inert ligand towards substitution in most of the complexes. Only in one case have we observed hemilabile properties. In this case, the thiolate group is the inert one and the pyrazolyl the labile one.
