La dimensió europea de l'educació als centres d'educació secundària obligatòria del Tarragonès

Abstract

Tesi Doctoral: La Dimensió Europea de l'Educació als Centres d'Educació Secundària al Tarragonès<br/>Presentada per: M. Concepció Torres Sabaté<br/>Directora: Dra. Joana Noguera Arrom<br/>Universitat Rovira i Virgili Tarragona 2004<br/><br/>La Tesi doctoral que presentem es desenvolupa en sis capítols. El contingut del primer capítol està dedicat a situar el marc històric, polític i legislatiu que ha generat la unificació del bloc de països que configuren la Unió Europea, presentant un resum d'aquells esdeveniments més remarcables que hi ha influit. Però donat que el tema que ens interessa és el de l'educació, és a dir, com es viu en l'àmbit educatiu la integració a la UE, precisem en el segon capítol com ha evolucionat el tractament de l'educació al llarg de les diverses estapes i tractats, així com les accions, documents i programes més rellevants al respecte, les línies programàtiques de la política educativa i els nous reptes en aquest àmbit i en la societat del S.XXI.<br/><br/>Creiem que és a través de l'educació com podrem aconseguir el sentiment de ciutadania europea. Perquè com diu Jacques Delors "...la Comissió és conscient de la contribució que l'educació ha d'aportar al desenvolupament econòmic i social." (1)<br/><br/>El fet de conèixer quina ha estat la història i el procés de construcció de la Unió Europea i els vincles entre la creixent importància donada a la formació, afavoreix situar una realitat actual així com analitzar l'evolució que cada Estat Membre desenvolupa, aspectes que han fet augmentar l'interès personal vers els temes relacionats amb la Unió Europea i l'Educació.<br/><br/>És en els capítols tercer i quart on presentem la situació real de la dimensió europea de l'educació al Tarragonès i la recerca endegada al respecte. La investigació té l'objectiu general d'analitzar els programes i/o accions que es desenvolupen als cetres d'Educació Secundària Obligatòria del Tarragonès, així com també el fet de conèixer la realitat dels alumnes i professors vers la dimensió europea a través d'uns instruments (entrevistes i qüestionaris) que ens ajuden a determinar amb metodologies qualitatives i quantitatives, alguns resultats sobre la pràctica, els coneixements i el pensament europeu, per realitzar al final un seguit de propostes d'actuació per millorar el concepte de ciutadania europea.<br/><br/><br/> (1)DELORS JACQUES, (1996): Educació hi ha un tresor amagat a dins. Pàg. 16<br/><br/>Es presenta també de manera il.lustrativa, un recull d'accions vers la UE de diverses institucions implicades en l'educacó de la comarca del Tarragonès, com són la Universitat Rovira i Virgili, així com la formació permanent que ofereix l'ICE (Institut de Ciències de l'Educació) de la mateixa universitat i la informació que des de la Delegació d'Ensenyament de Tarragona s'ofereix al professorat dels centres educatius, a través del propi Departament o des del Centre de Recursos del Tarragonès.<br/>Tot el procés de recollida d'informació ha estat dinàmic i laboriós, però poder analitzar una realitat tan propera en el territori -Tarragonès- ha estat molt gratificant. Alguns dels punts que s'especifiquen en la partt teòrica s'han actualitzat continuament, ja que la construcció de la Unió Europea s'ha anat concretant al llarg d'aquests anys.<br/><br/>La Dimensió Europea de l'Educació als Centres d'Educació Secundària al Tarragonès, després de les conclusions finalitza amb una proposta d'idees que se'n poden derivar i que, a partir de les necessitats detectades, poden ajudar a potenciar la dimensió europea de l'educació a alumnes i professors/es i altres professionals de l'educació. Aquestes queden desenvolupades en el capítol cinquè.<br/><br/>El capítol sisè és tot el recull bibliogràfic, els índex de gràfics i quadres, axí com els índexs dels annexos<br/><br/>Europa va rebre el seu nom fa més de vint-i-cinc segles i continua encara sent un projecte de futur. Doctoral Thesis: The European Dimension of Education in the Secondary Education Centres of the Tarragonès.<br/>Presented by: M. Concepció Torres Sabaté<br/>Supervisor: Dr Joana Noguera Arrom<br/>Universitat Rovira i Virgili Tarragona 2004<br/><br/>This doctoral thesis is developed over six chapters, the first of which defines the historical, political and legislative framework that has been generated by the unification of the countries that form the European Union, presenting a summary of the most noteworthy events that have been of influence. However, since the subject that interests us is education, that is how integration in the EU is lived in the educational environment, in the second chapter we specify how the treatment of education has evolved over various stages and treaties, as well as actions, documents and programmes that are most relevant to this aspect, programmatic lines of education policy and new challenges in this field and in twenty-first century society.<br/><br/>We believe that through education the feeling of European citizenship can be achieved. As Jacques Delors says, "... the Commission is aware of the contribution that education must make to economic and social development." <br/><br/>Knowing the history and the construction process of the EU and its links with the growing importance giving to education allows us to define the current reality as well as analyse the evolution of each member state, aspects that have increased our personal interest in areas related to the EU and education.<br/><br/>It is in the third and fourth chapters that we present the real situation of the European dimension in education in the Tarragonès and research in this area. The investigation's general objective is to analyse the programmes and actions that are developed in the Obligatory Secondary Education centres of the Tarragonès, as well as to identify the reality of students, teachers and the European dimension. This is done using instruments (interviews and questionnaires) that help us to determine, using qualitative and quantitative methodologies, some results about practice, knowledge and European thought, thereby arriving at a series of proposals to improve the concept of European citizenship.<br/><br/>To illustrate this study there is a presentation of a collection of actions about the EU from various institutions involved in education in the Tarragonès, such as the Universitat Rovira I Virgili, as well as the life-long learning offered by the Institute of Education Sciences of the same university and the information offered by the Department of Education of Tarragona to the teaching staff of education centres, available through the Department itself and the Resource Centre of the Tarragonès.<br/><br/>The process of collecting information has been dynamic and laborious, but the chance to analyse a reality so close to home the Tarragonès has been very gratifying. Some of the points that are specified in the theory section have been continually updated, since the construction of the EU has carried on throughout these years.<br/><br/>After the conclusions, this thesis ends with a proposal of ideas derived from it and which, based on the needs that have been identified, can help to promote the European dimension in education to students, teachers and other education professionals. These are developed in the fifth chapter.<br/><br/>The sixth chapter contains a bibliography, indices of diagrams and tables and indices of attachements.<br/><br/>"It has been more than 25 years since Europe got its name and it is still a future project."
